Risk assessment for old lifts
Hazard and risk assessment of old lifts to improve lift safety.
Tuvlita Technical Inspection Service carries out hazard and risk assessment of lifts in accordance with the Lithuanian standard LST EN 81-80 "Safety rules for construction and installation of lifts. Elevators in use. Part 80. Rules for improving the safety of passenger and goods passenger lifts in service".
Risk assessment of lifts is mandatory at the end of the period of use of the lift specified by the lift manufacturer or installer, or, if no period of use has been specified, after 25 years from the first day of use (see "Rules for the maintenance of lifts", point 10).
As a reminder, it is forbidden to use a lift without a timely hazard and risk assessment (see "Rules for the maintenance of lifts" point 14.11).
